The multi-award-winning silk bedding designer has added more pillowcases with prints to the selection, combining ancient silk craftsmanship with European design. The prints span from discreet damask to floral patterns in vivid colors.
Mayfairsilk's pillowcases are made from 100% pure Mulberry silk and have an OEKO-Tex Standard 100 certification, making them suitable for those with allergies and sensitive skin. The silk is grade 6A long-fibre, which is the highest quality of silk, and 25 momme, meaning the pillowcases have 13,6% more silk per square inch than 22 momme and 30% more than 19 momme,
"Silk fabrics are breathable and temperature regulating to help your body maintain an optimum sleeping temperature. In the summer, silk is naturally cooling and vents excess heat. In the winter, it provides an insulation barrier, creating an air pocket between the lattice structure to warm you up into that optimum temperature band," the company spokesperson said.
An article from the New York Times explains that silk pillowcases have several beauty benefits. As the silk is so smooth, it reduces the strain on the skin surface compared to other materials. It also absorbs less moisture than cotton, which is better for the skin's natural moisture and allows skin care products to stay on the skin throughout the night.
The same benefits go for hair, and many silk pillowcase users experience less frizz and split ends.
Some of Mayfairsilk's new prints include cherry blossoms, hummingbirds, garden blossoms in different tones, and flamingos. The selection also has classic single and two-colored options in standard and Oxford design.
"Very soft and nice pillowcase. I love it; it's my first silk pillowcase, but now I don't want to go back to cotton," a customer said in their review.
Marcus and Darshana Ubl started London-based Mayfairsilk in 2011 and has since been featured in magazines like Vanity Fair and Harper's Bazaar. The company has also received multiple recognitions, including Silk Bedding Company of the Year at the 2023 UK Enterprise Awards.
In addition to pillowcases, Mayfairsilk has sheets, duvet covers, sets, and accessories, all made from the highest quality Mulberry silk.
