Some of the points made were that while inventory of homes for sale in Denver is at all time lows, now is not a bad time for consumers to consider buying real estate in the Denver or other US metropolitan cities. Sellers who have their homes on the market in the winter are ready to sell and may be more motivated. New home construction companies are eager to sell their inventory before year end.
The market analysis shows that new home builder activity is the highest it has been in 10 years. About 75,000 people came to live in Denver in 2017 because of the good job market, relatively good weather, and access to recreation in the mountains.
The hosts express their conclusion that interest rates are not expected to go up much in 2018. The show makes a point that consumers may wish to keep in mind that increases in the federal interest rates do not directly correlate with mortgage rates.
