Did you know that you can get certified to perform microblading, dermaplaning, body sculpting, or even stem cell treatments – while completing most of your schooling at home? The Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy (647-247-2481) makes it easy, and they provide practical, hands-on training too.
Years ago, when I was ready for a big career upgrade, I spent several years taking classes - and then ended up with practically the same job, for basically the same pay - only with several years more of student debt to pay off.
Does this story sound familiar to you? It's becoming fairly common, and it shouldn't be.
It's also why I tell all my friends about career training opportunities whenever I can - well, the good ones anyway.
My new favourite is from the Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy because they can train you for a whole new career, in just a few months.
Take that, four years of schooling and the debt that came with it!
Their Academy can get you certified and started in a new career in 2 or 3 months, or you can get your full Master's certificate in approximately 6 months, depending on how fast you learn.
I'm getting ahead of myself though - I haven't even told you what kind of courses they teach yet. You can visit their website to get all the details straight from the source, at https://dermysk.com/pages/academy or, you can keep reading this blog to read the important details, my opinions, and maybe a joke near the end if everyone behaves.
The Dermysk Academy offers classes ranging from Basic to Master’s level, as well as several courses that are restricted to professional doctors and nurses - but we probably don't need to discuss those. They're super cool, but the procedures they teach can only be performed by a medical professional in Canada, so we can probably skip those classes for now.
This Basic training course includes everything you need to become certified as a medical aesthetician in Canada, including an overview of the industry, safety regulations, and legal concerns. This first course also includes hands-on experience and certification in up to a dozen common aesthetician techniques that you've probably heard of, such as dermaplaning, microblading, and radiofrequency rejuvenation.
What's really unique about this system, is that it's more accessible for, well, everyone.
Instead of having to quit your job, hire a babysitter, or commute every day, they just put all the "book learning" stuff online, so it's conveniently available anytime, anywhere. Do you work days, or have kids? You can learn at night, after you get home, or put the monsters to bed.
Yes, you will have to eventually go into the Academy for your practical training - but it's short, sweet, and well worth it.
The practical training lasts for one week with the Basic course, and it's packed with time spent practicing, using real medical aesthetic tools, and performing actual procedures. At the end of this training, you will be experienced, knowledgeable, and certified to complete all the procedures included in your course. You'll also be totally ready to begin your new career - whether that means getting a job at a local medical aesthetic clinic, or starting your own business.
What if you want to continue leveling up your skills though?
Once you've graduated from the Basic course, you can return for the Advanced course at any time, or take it immediately. This course is also available to anyone with at least 5 years of experience working in the medical aesthetic industry.
However - let me offer a little piece of advice. If you're planning to do the Basic course, then follow it right away with the Advanced course - don't.
Not because it's a bad idea, it's a great idea - but there's a better option.
You could enroll directly in the Master level training, which includes all the content covered in both the Basic and Advanced course, as well as several specialty skills. This course is the only program from the Academy that offers a Master of Medical Aesthetics certification, and it covers pretty much everything you can possibly do, without having to be a doctor.
The best part though? You can enroll in the Master level training first, fast-track your education, and get a head-start on your new career - while still completing most of your education online. In just a few months, you'll be more than just certified to work, you'll be a certified Master of Aesthetics.
Oh, and I almost forgot the joke... let's see...
Do you know what happens if you miss a day at cosmetology school?
You have to take a makeup class...
Look, I didn't say it was going to be a good joke...
The point is, if you, or someone you know, is ready to level up their career - point them toward the Dermysk Academy at https://dermysk.com/pages/academy
