While on the course, you will learn about the project life cycle and why a phased approach that involves defining, planning, organizing, and executing is preferred when tackling project work. You’ll also learn about stage-gate approvals, or the performance points projects must meet to ensure strategic alignment and effective project governance. Don't be intimidated by the big words — it's all really simple stuff that will benefit you greatly in both the short and long term!

The Applied Project Management course includes 80 hours of live and online classes and project work. On-Line classes are usually held in the evenings or on weekends, and all required materials are provided digitally to you before the start of the course. Because the course is MMI Academy’s entry-level offering, there are no prerequisites for enrolment. That's right — if you've got a computer, internet connectivity, and a willingness to learn, you're a candidate for the course!
Simple as it is to get in, there are some boxes you need to tick in order to pass the course; you must attend at least 80% of the sessions, submit all homework assignments, and score at least 75% on the exams. If you meet these requirements you will receive an Applied Project Management Certificate from the British Columbia Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.
