Nov 16, 2021

South Coast College (714-867-5009) in Orange, CA was recently recognized by the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics for its unique approach to education. We thank the organization for their commendation and continue our commitment to excellence through service.

We believe that education extends far beyond just memorization. That is why we have crafted all our programs to apply technical knowledge with ethical practices so that you KNOW not just WHAT to do but WHY you must do it.

This unique approach to education has made South Coast College one of the finalists of the 2021 Better Business Bureau Serving the Pacific Southwest (BBB) Torch Awards for Ethics, which we accept with honor. Further solidifying our position as a student-oriented, excellence-driven higher education institution, we have made a name for ourselves with our distinctive proactive training curriculums, where you experience hands-on support from your professors and peers.

With our recent announcement, Jean Gonzalez, CEO of South Coast College, highlights the commitment of our school to provide you with the education you need to pursue a successful and rewarding career. She thanks the faculty, students, staff, and alumni whose dedication to the college mission has made this award possible.

Gonzalez further notes that the graduates of our three most popular programs – Court Reporting, Medical Assistant, and Paralegal, who are often sought after by courts, law offices, and medical facilities – are why our college is recognized as a leading providing of outstanding legal professionals.

The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics is one of the highest honors that can be received by a business for its ethical industry practices. Finalists are selected by an independent panel of volunteer community leaders based on criteria established by the International Association of Better Business Bureaus.

All finalists complete an evaluation where they demonstrate their commitment to ethics and trust in four categories: Character, Culture, Customers, and Community. They are then asked to illustrate the character of their organization’s leadership, how an authentic culture is being fostered, how the company prioritizes its relationship with customers, and the impact the organization is making in their community.

Shelley Bradley, Director of Signature Events for BBB Serving the Pacific Southwest, says, “Honesty builds trust, which is a vital aspect in the success of a business. This is the 5th year that BBB has been recognizing outstanding companies in Orange County for their solid commitment to doing things the right way. To highlight these exceptional companies, the BBB hosted the inaugural Torch Award for Ethics celebration in Newport Beach, dedicated to the area's top ethical businesses.”

We thank the BBB for recognizing us as an ethical higher education institution built on global best practices. Go to https://www.bbb.org/local/1126/torch-awards-for-ethics so you can learn more.
