Nutrition is one of the most important factors related to optimal health and the potential risk for various health issues, making it essential for health practitioners in all areas to develop a solid grounding in the principles of adequate nutrition.
The new nutritional certification course offered by SAHAMM aims to provide doctors in all medical fields with practical and theoretical knowledge of the principles of adequate nutrition, as well as with the necessary skills to identify connections between nutrition and health maintenance, disease prevention and metabolism.
Course completion will enable participants to recognize common health disorders which can be addressed using dietary and nutrition principles, assess potential connections between cardiovascular disease and nutrition, understand the physiology of glucose regulation, and develop nutrition-based treatments for common allergies.
Successful participants will receive CPD points.
The course lectures will be held by a varied team of nutritionists, medical practitioners, hormone therapy experts and other medical professionals. The lecturers are Datuk Dr. Selvam Rengasamy, Dr. Karel Hromek, Dr. Mark Westaway, Dr. Baljit Singh Kaulsay and Dr. Marcus Hewitson.
The current training is the second module of the Nutritional Certification Advanced Program, a six-module series which began in March 2018 and will conclude in September 2019.
The series is part of SAHAMM’s commitment to promoting innovations and professional training in healthy aging, hormone therapy and nutritional medicine.
