Sport isn’t just a way to stay healthy in the physical sense, it also brings people and communities together. That’s why Caribbean Sport and Sustainable Development’s Kréyol Sports International (+590-690-86-06-19) project is starting a grassroots revolution of basketball in the region.
Basketball is alive and well in the Caribbean and, thanks to the efforts of Caribbean Sport and Sustainable Development (CSSD), it can continue to flourish!

The NGO will invest more in sport-led community partnerships to foster social cohesion, support human rights, and improve the quality of life for young people in the region. The Kréyol Sports International project combines a passion for basketball with a vision for sustainable development that sees sport as a catalyst for growth and unity.
Kréyol Sports International seeks to cultivate a love of sport while ensuring a sense of social responsibility from the basketball court to the wider environment and community. From grassroots basketball programs to resources and training for coaches, the project empowers young and old to fulfill their potential. What can you bring to the table?
The NGO is committed to the development of eco-friendly practices, establishing and helping maintain facilities that have a positive impact on their immediate environment. This work is made possible by collaboration with partner agencies such as 'da NEXT LEVEL sports'.
Kréyol Sports International's basketball training camps offer intensive coaching sessions for all age groups, giving young people an opportunity to develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment. There are also consulting services for local amateur clubs and leagues which help grassroots teams improve and attract new members.
Do you have kids who love the game? Are you a coach who wants to improve your training methods? Get in touch and find out what the project could offer you.
The project incorporates community and international events to bring people together and provide a space to share their love of sport and celebrate the diversity of the basketball community.
There's an elite program too which offers older children access to advanced training regimens, physical conditioning, and strategic gameplay coaching. Do you have players who would relish the opportunity to participate in high-level competitions against top-tier teams and showcase their skills on an international scale?
The elite programs also offer development opportunities beyond the basketball court. A spokesperson says, “Beyond athletic prowess, our program emphasizes personal development and education, helping players gain valuable life skills, maintain academic excellence, and prepare for future challenges.”
Kréyol Sports International is headed by Marvin Jno-Baptiste – a former semi-professional basketball player with experience in sustainable development through his work in the Francophonie of the Americas.
