Joey’s Food Fight brings its global food initiative to Ukraine! Watch Chicago Chef Joey Morelli embark on a culinary journey filled with history, culture, and philanthropy.
According to the United Nations, more than 40 percent of the population in Ukraine will need humanitarian assistance this year. In response to this humanitarian crisis, Chicago Chef Joey Morelli set off on a cooking mission to support those living in Ukraine. The Joey's Food Fight YouTube channel features a series on Morelli's experiences as he cooked food for the locals, taught refugees how to cook, supported local businesses, and more.

Joey's Food Fight seeks to raise awareness for the hardships Ukrainians are currently facing, taking viewers behind the scenes as Morelli learned from and forged deep connections with the local community.
According to the World Food Programme (WFP), roughly one in three families in Ukraine — 11 million people — are food insecure. In light of the food crisis, exacerbated by the ongoing conflict, Joey's Food Fight set out to feed at least 100 people everyday, over the course of its 30 day mission.
Joey's Food Fight's mission in Ukraine took Morelli to Stryi and Lviv, exploring the vibrant markets, crafting mouthwatering dishes with locally sourced ingredients, and learning about the culture. Beyond documenting the Chicago Chef's culinary journey, the series captures some of Ukraine's natural and cultural wonders, such as the picturesque Carpathian Mountains and the Ukraine Independence Day celebrations.
The series also shares first-hand experiences of the war and its impact on the lives of Ukrainians, featuring conversations with volunteers from East Ukraine, a man recently drafted into the military, and other members of the local community. Check out their stories!
Joey's Food Fight is a non-profit charity organization dedicated to supporting communities through food. Founded on a mission to help children in orphanages worldwide, the organization continues to use its platform to serve those who are most in need.
