Oct 27, 2024

curaJOY is teaming up with DataCamp Donates to promote responsible technology use, ethical AI, youth wellness, and data literacy across diverse communities.

Since its inception, curaJOY has worked hard to build an ecosystem where technology improves emotional wellness and breaks down the systemic barriers in healthcare and education.

Now, the non-profit has joined forces with DataCamp Donates to bring you a comprehensive learning platform for developing AI and data skills.

Empowering Diverse Communities

curaJOY believes responsible technology and ethical AI are best achieved when diverse communities are shaping them, rather than big tech.

By teaching skills in AI, machine learning, and data science, the non-profit hopes young people, parents, clinicians, and teachers from diverse backgrounds will understand the technology better, build confidence in using it, and most importantly, empower themselves and their communities through data literacy.

“This mirrors how emotional wellness is built—through developing emotional awareness and foundational social-emotional skills,” said a spokesperson for curaJOY. “If you don't understand something, then it's hard to use it safely and effectively.”

Shaping a Culture of Responsible, Safe, and Effective AI-Use

The partnership with DataCamp Donates gives curaJOY’s volunteers and youth ambassadors access to world-class data science, AI education, and certification programs on DataCamp, as well as hands-on guidance from industry professionals using real-world projects. This will allow curaJOY to actively shape a culture of responsible, safe, and effective AI use, while upskilling youth, parents, clinicians, teachers, and anyone invested in behavioral health.

With AI and machine learning, curaJOY’s gamified, inclusive, and on-demand behavioral health platform - MyCuraJO - is already helping clinicians accurately identify the root causes of challenging behaviors like elopement, self-harm, and aggression by 40% more.

Being Proactive with Social and Mental Health

curaJOY strives to improve mental health, emotional wellness, and social relationships in families across all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. With cutting-edge tech and a proactive approach to social and mental health, the non-profit continues to work on building more accessible and effective digital behavioral health programs.

The non-profit recently hosted its first AI for Good workshop in conjunction with BrightData.

“curaJOY comes from the communities we serve, driven by the challenges we witness in and around our lives. We improve the accessibility, effectiveness, and equity of emotional wellness support for families worldwide by merging proven evidence-based therapies with the latest technologies,” said a curaJOY rep.
