In addition to answering questions about Decision Making in Crisis, I bring Leadership in Action to life during my online virtual live streaming video and Q&A session with practical examples from my military career and beyond. One of the areas I explore during my online virtual live streaming video and Q&A session is the importance of keeping up momentum in a decision capacity, so that even if we make a wrong decision, we can make another one and get back on track. In my experience, once we stop making decisions it can be difficult to get started again.

My online virtual live streaming video and Q&A session is one of six Leadership in Action online training course modules and comes with frameworks and tools to help with decision processes.

The Decision Making module applies my 'Actions On Decision Making Framework' to real-world issues covering:

   •Define the problem

   •Brainstorm solutions

   •Collaborate and refine solutions

   •Consider risk and contingencies

   •Take responsibility

   •Decide and take action

   •Repeat and course-correct

I used this decision-making framework as an effective tool in both split-second decisions and longer term decision processes. As well as assessing the pros and cons of options at hand, I would also consider my level of training, skills, previous experience and gut instinct or intuition. Further, I would also consider the level of support available and the time available to me to make this decision.

I relied on this process in complex decisions while it also served as the basis for split-second decisions where the consequences of getting it wrong could be extreme on operations in a military context.
