Deckademics is a DJ and production school/gear supply operating out of Indianapolis, Indiana and online. We have been operating in the DJ/music production education market for 6 years and have been able to make such a strong impression on the market and gain reputation by doing more than just teaching students how to DJ and produce music. We have created a lifelong community of aspiring DJ's and producers and we coach them from complete beginners, to buying their gear, to booking gigs and publishing their songs.
We have had recognition as a community favorite, due to teaching youth how to DJ at local community centers and schools. We also have Deckademics Foundation Inc. to grow the connection of music, education and community initiatives while establishing better pathways to accessibility into the space where music and technology coexist.
When Deckademics was founded, it was made abundantly clear that we wanted to be the kind of company that was known for being more than a DJ/production school and store. We want to nurture artists through the entire process of becoming a DJ or producer and see them take it to the professional level, like we have with notable DJ's such as DJ Prince, Buck Rodgers, and Matsu. One of the biggest challenges we faced was being established in Indianapolis. We are not located in New York or Los Angeles where there is a large music scene. We wanted to prove to the world that it doesn't matter where you are from, what matters is the skill and knowledge you have as a DJ or producer. Fortunately with some good people behind us, we have always operated on the foundation that a student's success is our success. We don't teach our students how to DJ or produce, sell them their gear, and send them on their way. We get their name out there, get them on stage, and share their music. We create lifelong relationships for continued growth and learning for both our students, and our customers."
Our future plans involve growing our online community so that more artists have a place to learn, share, and network. We want a platform where artists know they can be heard, guided, and create relationships with other artists. It's the hope of ours that if you are an aspiring DJ or producer, you come to Deckademics. There is so much more that goes into being an artist than just buying gear and learning how to use it.
