At 31 million, India has the highest number of orphans in the world. Unfortunately, most of them suffer a life of poverty, abuse, and exploitation, due to a lack of care and resources. To protect these underserved children, People To People Foundation started an ongoing fundraising initiative, using community-funded resources to help orphans receive all the care they need. Now, the nonprofit asks for your help.

All children deserve access to shelter, nutrition, healthcare, and education. Sadly, too many of them are denied those needs because they're poor, marginalized, and orphaned. People To People Foundation wants to change the course of these children's lives by fulfilling their basic needs and giving them the opportunity to explore academics, sports, arts and crafts, and other activities that will help them become active members of their community.
Orphanages in India are extremely overwhelmed. In a country with over 30 million orphaned or abandoned children, and over 370,000 children in 9500 child care institutions, there just aren't enough resources to take care of all of them! This is where People To People Foundation steps in. The nonprofit partners with these overstretched, under-resourced orphanages, and with donations from people like you, they can receive more food, clean water, clothes, books, computers, and other necessities.
Since its establishment in 2010, People To People Foundation has led many successful initiatives, giving thousands of dollars to several orphanages in India, building a new floor for Jnana Mandira Home for Girls, funding computers at Infant Jesus Children's Home, and ensuring the children living with HIV at Sisters of DSS (Deena Sevana Sabha) receive top-quality care.
During a recent visit to the nonprofit’s partnering orphanages in India, Sneader Sequeira, VP of People To People Foundation, carried out inspections, taking note of any areas that will need more support. People To People Foundation intends to use its fundraising initiative to improve on those areas and raise the standard of living at its partnering orphanages.
People To People Foundation is a volunteer-run community-funded nonprofit organization that supports orphanages in India and Poland. “Our goal is to not only nurture these children but to educate them so that they are able to bring about a positive change in their community and country,” said a spokesperson for the nonprofit.
