Will your child spend all summer 2024 looking at his/her device? If you live in the Denver Metro Area, Balance Early Learning Academy’s day camps will introduce kids to the great outdoors in Douglas County.
The memories and friendships we have from childhood often stay with us for life, so they really shouldn’t come from the screen of a device. The 2024 summer day camps from Balance Early Learning Academy (BELA) will unlock a world of adventure for your kids.

There will be 9 camp-weeks, beginning June 10 and finishing August 9, and each day runs from 8 am to 4 pm. You can drop-off/pick-up your kids at one of two locations, in Castle Rock or Highlands Ranch, and the program is open to ages 6 to 11.
In addition to teaching kids about the great outdoors, the camps are a great opportunity for children to make new friends. BELA will introduce kids to a wide variety of activities, such as hiking, fishing, biking, archery, arts and crafts, games, and more.
“Our daily adventures begin and end in nature, preparing your child for a life of joy in the great outdoors,” a company representative explained. “It is our intention to create a supportive, safe, and fun learning environment for your children to have the best summer ever.”
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 8- to 10-year-olds spend an average of 6 hours each day on devices, not including educational purposes, while 11- to 14-year-olds have up to 9 hours of screen time each day. A recent Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study found that higher screen times in children are associated with lower cognitive ability.
With the new summer 2024 program, Balance Early Learning Academy aims to help children connect with the world around them. The camps are conveniently located close to the Denver metropolitan area, and the team is trained in outdoor education, childcare, team-building, and first-aid.
A state-licensed Early Childhood Education child care facility, Balance Early Learning Academy focuses on play-based learning principles to help children develop through self-discovery. The new summer camp series continues this ethos, aiming to help attendees connect with the natural environment.
“The BELA teachers truly care about the students,” one client recently stated. “My kids absolutely love them, and we are always so impressed with what and how much they are learning. Everyone is so friendly and professional, and we could not be happier with our experience.”
