Dr. Mijares brings a wealth of expertise to his practice, specializing in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He is a Vanderbilt University alumnus with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned his Medical Doctorate with Highest Honors from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Mijares completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, serving as Chief Resident. He further honed his skills through a Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the prestigious Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Los Angeles.
In addition to his extensive training, Dr. Mijares has published numerous articles in the fields of arthroscopy and fracture surgery, showcasing his commitment to advancing orthopedic techniques. His dedication to patient care and lifelong learning sets him apart in his field.
Dr. Mijares has also served as Assistant Team Physician for the Miami Marlins baseball team, Miami Hurricanes football and women’s soccer teams, and has been the Team Physician for several local high school football teams. Currently, he serves as Team Physician for the BridgePrep Academy-Village Green High School football team.
