Expect Hawaii to shake with the super heavy weight big boys in the main and co-main event. Both from the islands, Lolohea Mahe (8-4-0) will take on Raymond Lopez (3-1-0) in the main event, preceded by Tipo Lafaele taking on Rudy Schaffroth of Oregon.
X-1 World Events #47 June 24,2017
X-1 World Events looks to start the summer off right by bringing the heat back to the Blaisdell Arena on June 24th with a stacked card of local MMA talent.
Expect the whole Oahu south shore to shake with the super heavy weight showcase of big boys in the main and co-main event match ups. Both hailing from the islands, Lolohea Mahe (8-4-0) will take on Raymond Lopez (3-1-0) for the main event, preceded by local boy Tipo Lafaele taking on Rudy Schaffroth of Oregon. Both fighters are undefeated as pros. The promotion promises to secure the cage doors tight for this one as Schaffroth’s last fight earlier this year ended in a no-contest when he threw his opponent through a door that malfunctioned. No one wants to end up with one of these huge beasts in their lap.
Filling out the rest of the X1 #47 Main Card, in the 145 pound weight class Isaac Hopps (2-3-0) is coming off a win in the X-1 cage and looks to continue the momentum against Daniel Friend (1-2-0). Both look to get their records back on track at an even 50 percent, and with a lot at stake and some proving to do, this match up could make for a real barn-burner.
Kaeo Myers (0-0-0) will make his pro debut against Paul Lopes (0-3-0), with their combined pro/am records looking very similar and making this a match that has some serious potential.
At 205 pounds, with a short amateur career Justus Faaiu (0-0-0) will make his pro debut against Paul Norman (1-4-0) who has been an active competitor since 2009. Though experience can be a key factor, so can the vitality of a newer fighter.
The undercard is comprised of some great amateur matchups including several title contentions between competitors who are experienced and skilled enough to have earned the belt shot and right to perform on one of the biggest stages Hawaii has to offer.
With X-1’s strong history of giving a platform to rising championship talent like UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway and many others, the stacked card for X-1 Events #47 is a great opportunity to watch Hawaii’s up an comers as they climb the ranks.
