Firemask protects Three People After Truck with Toxic Phosphine Rolls on QEW Highway
Firemask Inc. officials received a compelling letter from a customer who used the Firemask RPD60 filtration mask to protect his family during an emergency this summer. The family was travelling on the Queen Elizabeth Way highway, near Ste-Catherines, Ontario, when a transport truck hauling a flammable and toxic chemical called Phosphine rolled over a mere 500 meters from their vehicle.
A few moments after the incident, police arrived on the scene and forced an evacuation of all the cars and issued an evacuation order for a two kilometre radius of the site. Phosphine is dangerous when inhaled and is flammable. Fire departments were also dispatched to the scene to manage the hazardous material.
The driver of the car had bought the Firemasks in order to provide protection in case of an emergency while on the road. Instinctively, his five year old son said ‘’Daddy should we put on our special masks?’’ Without hesitation all on board put on their masks to protect themselves from the unknown gases. Since the Firemask RPD60 provides over one hour of filtration against all types of toxic gases and other airborne particles, everyone in the car was able to get to a safe distance from the accident.
"I just lived through a moment of immense joy! A Firemask customer told me that his family was saved thanks to our masks! It's a beautiful feeling ..." wrote Bruce Allali, on the Facebook page for Firemask, Chief Executive Officer at Firemask. "Emergencies can happen at any time. Our company provides products that enable families and their pets, to be prepared for all types of emergencies. We were so happy that everyone was safe", said the CEO.
Firemasks, Fireblankets and other personal emergency preparedness products are available on the company's website and are available in USA, Canada and Europe.
