Unleashed Games admired Braindead Games for their dedication to their project and looks forward to working with their veteran animation and strong development team as they work to bring the game to market. The merger is a sign of hope for fans, who are encouraged to be excited about the future of the project.
Epic Games announced it would shut down Paragon earlier in the year. The game was announced in November 2015, and officially launched through early access beta in March 2016. It became a free-to-play open beta in 2017, but has now run its course.
The official statement at the time from Epic Games said: “We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon. We have failed you — despite the team’s incredibly hard work — and we’re sorry.”
Epic will be refunding every Paragon player who purchased the game regardless of platform. But all is not lost for fans of the game, as the new merger between Unleashed Games and Braindead Games offers hope.
Unleashed Games states: “All is not lost. We at Unleashed Games are working around the clock to bring in the successor. Keep tuned to us here for updates on testing opportunities, featured content, and overall game announcements and contests.”
The team at Unleashed Games says that it will be working hard to bring fans of the original game the sequel they deserve.
Unleashed Games spokesperson, Matt Joro said: “Our company has long respected the team at Braindead Games and by getting to know their wonderful team through the merge process, we are all very excited to work alongside them in our common goal to deliver the project back to the fans.”
