Unfortunately, if you want to be in the business of Botox, it can get a little more complicated - because in Canada you need to be a registered nurse or physician to take that class. So how does it work?
The Basic training course has two sections, online and offline, so you can work on the knowledge portion of the class any time, from anywhere with an internet connection. After completing 7 online training modules, you can schedule the practical portion of your training at any Dermysk Academy location in Canada.
While the educational portion of the class can be completed entirely at your own convenience, working overnight, between jobs, or even on weekends, the practical portion of the class does actually require daily attendance. The good news is, that this portion is only about a week long.
During the practical training, you'll get hands-on experience with medical aesthetic tools, clients, and scenarios - closely supervised of course. So when you're done the training, you'll have real-world experience, with real clients, and real problems, that you've solved.
After one week of hands-on training, you will be fully certified and ready to work in a MedSpa - or you can enroll in the Academy’s Advanced aesthetics program. This Advanced class is open to all graduates of the Basic program, and any MedSpa workers with at least 5 years of experience.
Is it worth it though? Well - I guess that depends on what type of techniques you want to be certified for. The Basic training is good enough, but the Advanced class has the coolest techniques, for sure.
Advanced training provides certification in the most complex MedSpa techniques available, such as Cool Sculpting, laser gynecology, and advanced laser pigmentation treatments.
Well, these are the most advanced procedures that can be done by someone who isn't a registered nurse or physician anyway, but we talked about that already.
Regardless of which course you take, you can begin working in a MedSpa or offering MedSpa services from a home business, immediately after you graduate.
Before you rush off to open a business though, let me tell you one little secret that may come in handy. If your plan is to learn it all, Basic then Advanced procedures, you can save yourself a bit of time, and learn some extra skills, using the Master-level course.
This program contains all the same training as the Basic and Advanced courses, except that it's bundled into a single class, with additional exclusive content not found elsewhere. This Master-level training is also the only way to earn the rare, “Master of Medical Aesthetics” certificate upon graduation, and starting a new career with the highest certificate of achievement is pretty nice.
Whichever path you choose, the point is, that becoming an aesthetician or MedSpa worker is easier than you might think, for even the most advanced techniques.
