Were you stationed at MCB Camp Lejeune between 1953 and 1987? With new legislation about to be signed by President Biden, Console & Associates P.C. can help you seek compensation.
The water supply at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is now known to have been contaminated by toxic chemicals, leading to significant health effects. There is now sufficient evidence to link a number of conditions to the toxic water at MCB Camp Lejeune. These include kidney cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, bladder cancer, liver cancer, leukemia, and cardiac defects.
So, what is the new law? The Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022 aims to remove several barriers that have prevented victims from seeking damages. The Act was introduced in the House of Representatives in January 2022, and its provisions were subsequently included in the 'Honoring Our PACT Act'. The House of Representatives voted in favor of the 'Honoring Our PACT Act' on March 4, 2022, and the Senate voted in favor of the bill on June 16, 2022. Presidential approval making the bill a federal law is expected soon.

Personal injury law firm Console & Associates, P.C.'s new legal assistance program is designed specifically for Veterans and their families who were stationed at the MCB Camp Lejeune between 1953 and 1987 for more than 30 days at a time. As part of the recently launched service, the Console & Associates, P.C. is now interviewing Veterans, families, and civilian employees who lived or worked at the base and have since developed serious medical conditions. The firm states that even victims who were previously denied may still be able to move forward with an individual claim.
“The Camp Lejeune Justice Act being poised to become law is huge news for our Veterans and military families who have waited years, suffering physically as well as financially, to finally get the compensation they deserve,” said Console & Associates, P.C. founder and managing attorney Richard P. Console, Jr. “All toxic exposure victims deserve justice, but the fact that Camp Lejeune’s water contamination issues went on for decades and that those affected were overwhelmingly the service members and military families already making so many sacrifices to serve our country make this new legislative development all the more important.”
