Since graduating, Dr Jerry Dreessen has practiced in the Puget Sound area and created the clinic Back to Action Chiropractic, which won the Best Chiropractic Business award in 2001, and has been serving the area ever since.

Chiropractic services is a health care discipline that focuses on emphasizing the recuperative power of the body to heal itself on its own without the need or use of drugs, surgery and other medical treatments. Chiropractic care focuses on the link between the structure of the spine and the function of the nervous system, and how this link and system affects the health of the body.

The nervous system is the control center of all living cells, tissues and organs. This nervous system is responsible for orchestrating and coordinating the cellular functions. As well as this, the spinal column encases this nervous system as well as protecting it.

This link between the spine and nervous system means that there can be biomechanical and structural problems in the spine that can irritate the functioning of the nervous system and cause pain and negativity.

Visitors to the site will find that there are three stages of care, relief care, corrective care and wellness care. Relief care is the first stage for most patients, and the primary goal is to provide patients with symptomatic relief.

Corrective care is the second stage of chiropractic, and consists of correcting the problems as well as rehabilitating the injured tissues. Finally, wellness care is the third and final stage of chiropractic care, where the patient is recommended regular spinal check-ups to ensure that patients remain healthy.
