The SWIMVICE Freestyle Speed Program utilizes economy of movement principles to improve your freestyle swimming efficiency.
Part 1 of the SWIMVICE Freestyle Speed Program provides you with key points for eliminating drag; the resistance that water puts on your body as you go through it. Part 2 shows how to effectively add power to your technique. Part 3 introduces you to the concept of tempo, or how fast your arms and legs move. Part 4 establishes your baseline and plans goals for achieving and sustaining your speed.
The SWIMVICE Freestyle Speed Program is taught entirely online through video training and instruction; however, you are encouraged to practice what you learn in your local pool. For Parts 3 and 4 of the course, a Finis Tempo Trainer is required. This small, waterproof device emits an audible beep to keep you on pace in the water. You can purchase one through the SWIMVICE website.
To enroll in the SWIMVICE Freestyle Speed Program you also have to become a member of the SWIMVICE Community. This exclusive network connects and engages you with swimmers from all over the world, providing you with resources to help you improve. The SWIMVICE Community offers additional courses, structured plans, video demos, drills, and progressions, as well as tips on breathing, body position, kick timing, and stroke cycle. Coach Mandy also hosts scheduled live streams with video analysis and swim topics related to courses.
Coach Mandy started SWIMVICE Community back in 2019 after years as a personal trainer and swim coach. She also runs a YouTube channel providing advice and tips to swimmers of all levels. As part of the SWIMVICE Community, she also writes a blog with information for swimmers to supplement their learning with. In addition to SWIMVICE Community, she also serves as the Head Swim Coach for the University of California San Francisco Masters Swim Team.
You can take advantage of SWIMVICE Community’s Free 7-Day Trial Period to explore their resources and services. At the end of the trial, you can subscribe for $24.95 a month or $199.99 for the year.
A satisfied customer said: “I could not swim at all. In four months I'm now able to swim confidently and in a few months will (hopefully) complete a half Iron Man. Mandy is able to explain things in a simple way and a way that I can remember when I am doing my own drills - and she's very patient.”
