The newly updated services offer families and groups in the Eden Valley and Penrith area outdoor adventure activities as an alternative to overcrowded Lake District locations.
Founded in 2011, Independent Adventure initially provided event entertainment in the Lake District, travelling from place to place from their base near Carlisle. As the company grew, the team did too, taking their outdoor entertainment, event planning and management services further afield. As the company grew, it seized the opportunity to provide outdoor adventure and skill based activities from a fixed watersports location. Thus, Talkin Adventures was born.
Outdoor activities from the company include group packages for archery, raft building, kayaking, canoeing and more. These services were very popular with hen and stag parties before the pandemic and hopefully will soon be available to them after July! For now, the Talkin Adventures team are focussing on getting family activity groups, school groups and and youth groups out into nature to experience adventure like never before.
Independent Adventure also provides a variety of experience packages, such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding and archery. Each package is tailored to the needs of your event, and can be adapted to be suitable for any age group.
The company’s outdoor activity services are complemented by excellent on-site facilities at their Talkin Tarn venue in Cumbria. It's a stunning location, a kettle hole lake that’s around 10,000 years old, overlooked by Talkin Fell one of the most northerly hills of the Pennines. The current site includes a cafe and tea rooms offering handmade cakes, toilets with showers and changing rooms to accommodate watersports and muddy activities. There's also a wheelchair-friendly footpath around the tarn.
The directors, Robyn and Darren Morgan are looking forward eagerly to the lifting of pandemic restrictions so that their unique event activities will also be back on offer to suit any occasion. The rest of Independent Adventure's mobile activity offering is suitable for weddings and parties, no matter your celebration. Past events include archery at weddings, school holiday adventure camps, and team raft building for corporate groups.
