The SFC (Structured Family Caregiving) program is a new Georgian Medicaid that provides you with financial compensation for taking care of an elderly or disabled family member at home.
What are the requirements to receive financial compensation as a caregiver for my elderly/disabled family member in Georgia?
Financial compensation is possible if you are older than 18 and live with the person you care for and are biologically related to or related to them through marriage excluding legal guardians and spouses. Your elderly or disabled family member must also be eligible for Georgia Medicaid and be part of the CCSP or SOURCE waiver program.
What benefits will I receive as a Home Nurse employee?
Your benefits include receiving weekly tax-free payments, professional healthcare coaching, and practical/written skills training. As per the Home Care Protection Act, you are not an independent contractor but a Home Nurse W-2 employee who is covered by bonding, liability, and unemployment insurance as well as worker’s compensation.
