The latest announcement aims to bring the group’s debut album to a wide online audience, as the interest in online music streaming is expected to continue to grow in light of the current COVID-19 mitigation policies.
The ten-track debut album is the result of more than a decade of experimentation with a variety of styles and genres, from progressive rock to jazz and classical music.
Widely acclaimed for its mature songwriting and genre-defying sound, the album has been praised by reviewers and fans alike.
Under The Radar Mag describes it as “one of those albums that comes along as if from nowhere and knocks you sideways with the kind of listening experience which we all dream about having, but in actual fact have very infrequently”.
You can listen to the entire album for free via the band’s official website.
The music videos for two of the songs on the album - Moonlight and So Far No Luck - are also available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IShVFHPN6Ak and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wEK30mKqNA.
About Earthquake Lights:
The five members - Myles Rodenhouse, Cameron Underhill, Evan Douaihy, James DiGirolamo, and Steve Helms - graduated from the Hofstra University’s jazz department in the early 2010s. Their musical journey as Earthquake Lights started shortly afterwards, and the band has continuously developed their sound over the following years.
After multiple gigs in the New York City and Long Island areas, they released their debut album Distress Signals on April 12, 2019.
Their sound has been described by Atwood Magazine as “a true amalgamation of everything from jazz and crooners, to progressive rock and romantic classical music.”
