South Jersey Magazine has named Haddon Culinary the “Best of the Best” Gourmet Market for 2021. The chef-driven market, restaurant and specialty grocer in Collingswood, NJ won the magazine’s Readers Choice award for the second consecutive year.
Haddon Culinary, a unique chef-driven market, casual restaurant and specialty grocer, has been named 2021’s Best of the Best Readers’ Choice Gourmet Food Market by South Jersey Magazine. The two-year-old culinary hotspot, located in the heart of Collingswood, NJ, is a two-time winner, previously named Best of the Best Food Market in 2020.
Owned and operated by chefs James Liuzza of Barrington and Joseph Muldoon of Franklinville, Haddon Culinary offers a “from scratch” kitchen with prepared foods, a la carte menu items, and seasonal dishes for dining and take out. They also feature an in-store butcher, a seafood counter, full catering services and a dedicated space for private functions.
“We are so honored to be recognized by South Jersey Magazine, especially this year, when restaurants and grocers became such an essential part of people’s lives throughout the pandemic.” said Chef Joe Muldoon, “It was a difficult year to own a business, but we are so thankful we could contribute to the Collingswood community and help offer some comfort throughout this crazy year. We couldn’t have asked for a better community of foodies.”
Haddon Culinary has something for everyone and every meal. The 4,000-square-foot market, located on the corner of Washington Ave., is known for its full-service catering and flexible dining options - from dine-in entrees to meal kits to specialty groceries. The market offers a wide variety of vegan, and gluten free dishes, and is happy to serve the preferences of people with dietary concerns.
“We cater to what you need. You can cook at home with a head start from trained chefs or buy something prepared that’s delicious.” said Chef James Liuzza, “We make everything from sausages to soups, and our signature chicken pot pie starts with a homemade all butter pie dough that is second to none. Cooking is our joy and our customers can taste that.”
Both chefs are graduates of Johnson and Wales, and have worked together at various times over a 15-year period, including at DiBruno Brothers, a specialty food retailer and caterer based in Philadelphia.
The second win for South Jersey Magazine’s Best of the Best Food Market is a momentous milestone for the two-year old market, as they continue to appeal to new customers and expand their catering and event services.
