The company’s newly announced online movie event will feature “Coming To America 2” and will be held on Monday, April 26th from 8 pm to 9:30 pm EDT.
Systematic racism is found in inequalities in employment, education, housing, healthcare, and the justice system. Improving career options and work environments for Black people will help to combat this type of racism.
“Coming To America” tells the story of the African Prince, Akeem, that travels to America searching for love and his future queen in Queens, New York. “Coming To America 2” is the continuation of that story. In this sequel, Akeem is now a king and learns that he has a son. This revelation brings him to return to America.
This discussion series, “What’s the 411 - Analyzing Race Through Film, Literature and Storytelling” is led by the company’s leadership team which includes a professor whose research centers around race and unconscious bias. Black Belonging Matters uses film and print to highlight the Black experience in America.
