Every 32 minutes, a veteran succumbs to suicide, translating to 44 preventable tragedies each day. The Ketamine Taskforce, a volunteer-run organization, sees hope in reversing this dire trend. Their belief is firm: Ketamine, an FDA-approved anesthetic, can significantly diminish suicidal tendencies within a day, offering a beacon of hope for those in the shadows of despair.

However, to extend this lifeline to a broader range of veterans, it's imperative that Ketamine receives FDA clearance for treating major depression, PTSD, and chronic pain, and is acknowledged by insurance policies.

This is where the Ketamine Taskforce needs you - your support is vital in aiding veterans grappling with these overwhelming challenges, empowering them to reclaim the life they fought to protect.

Ketamine Taskforce is hosting a donation drive to their partner organization, Healingourheroesflorida.org, to enable more veterans dealing with major depression, PTSD, and suicidal ideation to attend the organization's Ketamine Retreats, the first of which took place in Hawaii . In addition to ketamine treatments, the retreats also encompass yoga, meditation, breathwork, and other therapies.

"After our first retreat in Hawaii we realized how important these healing retreats are and that we can better serve our veterans with the support of Healing Our Heroes Foundation building their very own healing retreat center in South Florida," Ketamine Tasforce's founder and president Kimberly Juroviesky said. "We are planning to try and raise 5 million dollars to build such a center," she added.

One of the Ketamine Taskforce's key endeavors is their involvement in producing "The Forgotten Veteran." This film delves into the lives of female veterans struggling with post-service life and how Ketamine therapy has been a transformative experience. The documentary aims to highlight Ketamine's positive impact on mental health, advocating for broader acceptance and use in treating conditions like Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, and chronic pain.

Every day, nearly 1000 individuals are lost to suicide; Ketamine therapy could play a critical role in reducing this staggering number. As a collective of five women who have witnessed Ketamine's life-altering effects, the Ketamine Taskforce tirelessly works to educate healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of Ketamine in mental health and chronic pain management. The funds raised by the Taskforce are dedicated to this educational mission and the production of "The Forgotten Veteran."

In tandem with these efforts, the Taskforce is partnering with Healing our Heroes Florida for a unique initiative. On November 11th, 2023, a team of five veterans will embark on a 105-mile hike from Miami's Wonderland Conference Ice Palace to Hobe Sound. Their goal? To raise $105,000. This hike symbolizes the dire statistic: 44 veterans lost to suicide daily. As Kimberly Juroviesky, a United States Air Force Veteran and a founder of Healing our Heroes, puts it: "Our mission is to give back to those who've given everything for us."

Healing our Heroes, a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2023 by veterans, medical professionals, and others dedicated to helping, focuses on the escalating mental health issues among those who serve. Their vision is to offer healing retreats to Veterans, First Responders, and retired FBI and CIA personnel, with the inaugural retreat in Hawaii in September 2023 having marked a significant success. Plans are underway to extend these retreats to Florida and the West Coast.
