YOU Deserve to LIVE! How To Boost Your Immune System During Coronavirus: Best Foods, Actionable Tips, Immune System Boosters, Impactful Thoughts and Scientific Facts.
What do you do when the invisible enemy that can potentially kill you is 0.125 micron in size - the size of one-900th of the width of a human hair - and some people around you still believe that social distancing rules do not apply to them? How do you defend yourself? Boxing, Krav Maga, and other successful self-defence techniques will definitely not help. Are you fast enough to successfully cover yourself from someone else's sneeze? ARE YOU SURE you can close your eyes in time?
In the Coronavirus/Covid-19 era where credible and trusted information is critical, Manos Filippou, published author, best selling and highest rated course creator, and instructor of the new online course for companies and individuals "YOU Deserve to LIVE! How to Boost Your Immune System During Covid-19 [Backed by Science]", shares his thoughts about the next steps the medical community needs to take to find a vaccine for Coronavirus/Covid-19. In addition, he provides actionable tips as to how to boost your immune system before the next expected wave comes, including some very surprising facts!
Why The Medical Community Needs to Think Outside The Box
“It is impossible to produce superior performance unless you do something different.”
•John Templeton, American-born British Investor
When in May 2020 President Trump claimed he took an unproven drug for Covid-19 to prevent Coronavirus infection, he got the attention of the media and often the frustration of the medical community. In the fight against Coronavirus there are so many unknowns, that claims that are not fully supported by the medical community can often be confusing and questionable.
However, "when we are dealing with an invisible enemy, everyone is trying to figure things out, our options are limited, we are running out of time since people are dying, and the economy suffers, then the medical community needs to think outside of the box, and explore every possible scenario and theory that is worth taking a look at. Coronavirus has killed hundreds of thousands around the world, and another wave is expected according to health organizations. Since more and more people ignore social distancing rules, things will get tougher", says Manos Filippou, course developer and instructor of the new online course "YOU Deserve to LIVE! How to Boost Your Immune System During Covid-19 [Backed by Science]".
"I'm not a health professional" Mr. Filippou, says, "however, my focus is on research and scientific facts, and while I read hundreds and hundreds of studies, when I was developing my course in my effort to protect myself and my family, I found some very surprising information". One of the most surprising of Mr. Filippou's findings was in a 2003 study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism about cocaine and the fact that it may compromise the immune system and increase the risk of infection. While this information is not new, what is interesting about that study is that according to researchers, a protein called interleukin-6 (IL-6), responded less robustly to an immunological challenge in male and female abusers injected with cocaine than in those who received placebo, impairing the body’s defense system for at least 4 hours. Because cocaine stimulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, IL-6 suppression may be a consequence of corticosteroid release.
Why is this finding important?
Emerging data suggests that many patients infected with COVID-19 may die due to an excessive response of their immune system, including perfectly healthy individuals, causing what is called a “cytokine storm". A crucial role on these storms seems to be played by IL-6, whose increased levels in the serum have been correlated with respiratory failure, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), and adverse clinical outcomes. While there are efforts to suppress IL-6 with medicines developed for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and other medicine combinations, it seems that suppressing IL-6 without blocking vital CD4 lymphocytes (trigger the immune response) and CD8 (the "killers" that destroy infected cells more effectively than macrophages) is still a challenge.
Mr. Filippou believes that while it is important to fight COVID-19 in the lab, it is as important to revisit older studies and what others researched, think outside the box, and re-examine facts without prejudice. "No one has yet 100% of the answers" he says. "And while everyone is still exploring effective ways to save people's lives, and find a successful vaccine, every idea should be on the table and should be explored by the medical community as crazy as it may seem." Would a 2003 study about cocaine gives us the answers we are looking for? "Probably not. Illegal drugs are extremely dangerous and should be avoided" he says "but something else might". "It is the attitude the medical community needs to adapt that every idea should be at least considered". "New ideas always have risks. The United Kingdom tried the "herd immunity" approach and failed" he says. "However, Thomas Edison failed 10,000 before inventing the light bulb. It all comes down to taking well informed and calculated risks" he adds.
Why Having a Strong Immune System Should be Your Top Priority in the Coronavirus/Covid-19 Era
"I like to read general biology - things about the immune system and advances in that area - because it lays the foundation for my part of the dialogue at the foundation about what things we ought to pursue."
•Bill Gates, Co-founder of Microsoft Corporation
Until this happens, until we have a vaccine, following the recommendations of health organizations, and having a strong immune system is the best line of defense and should be our only priority.
While boosting your immune system will NOT protect you from getting Coronavirus/Covid-19 or other respiratory illnesses, a strong immune system may make the difference between being sick for a few days or a few weeks. "In the end, it is all about survival!" Mr. Filippou says.
In addition, having an optimal immune system has the potential to help defend against other illnesses that can be as serious as cancer, by destroying cancer cells as soon as they appear, or less serious such as a common cold that may become a threat.
In his new course "YOU Deserve to LIVE! How to Boost Your Immune System During Covid-19 [Backed by Science]", Mr. Filippou shares everything you need to know to boost your immune system including: immune system booster foods and benefits, anti inflammatory diet and foods, gut health, antioxidants, life style choices, and important immune system strategies you might have NEVER considered before!
His mission is to help individuals boost their immune system naturally, but also help companies educate their employees as to how to keep their immune system strong before the expected next wave comes. "After all, a company’s main asset is their employees and currently billions of dollars per year are lost in corporate America due to sick leave" he says. "Numbers will probably rise as companies resume work".
How To Boost Your Weak Immune System: Actionable Tips to Strengthen Your Immunity and Other Things to be Aware
“All parts of the body which have a function, if used in moderation and exercised in labors in which each is accustomed, become thereby healthy, well developed and age more slowly, but if unused they become liable to disease, defective in growth and age quickly.”
― Hippocrates, Father of Medicine
"There are many things that can be boosters to a weak immune system, however there is no such thing as miracle remedies, as some falsely claim" Mr. Filippou says, while he shares some of the strategies he brings to the attention of his students. "Boosting the immune system is the result of a combination of common-sense strategies that are based on principles suggested overtime by the medical community and are backed by data scientifically". "While there are many resources online" he says "there has never been a collective effort up to this moment to present a fresh look at the topic on how to boost the immune system and put all the information under one umbrella". His immune system course is a massive source of knowledge backed by science, that will give students ideas on how to improve their immune system. "Some of the information will actually surprise students" he says, and includes some facts that he bets most of people do not know.
· Did you know as an example, that you can get more vitamin C from a half red bell pepper than an orange?
· Did you know that our essential minerals and vitamins can become depleted during stress?
· Did you know that a product most of you use every day, may add toxins to your body and may compromise your immune system without you knowing it?
· Did you also know that when we get older, some of the cells in our immune system called T cells lose their ability to fight viruses, yet there is ONE vitamin that may reverse and improve the ability of those cells to fight infections?
· Did you know that selenium is a powerful mineral that plays an important role in the health of your immune system and you can get the necessary daily dose from only ONE Brazilian nut?
The knowledge Mr. Filippou shares doesn't stop there. Throughout his immune system course he provides answers in Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) including the following:
Does alcohol weaken the immune system?
Drinking high amounts of alcohol is associated with a range of negative health effects, including lowering our immune system. Excessive alcohol can damage the lungs, and impair the mucosal immune system, which is essential in helping the body recognize pathogens and fight infection.
The course also touches on topics that everyone should be informed about, including the importance of vitamin D.
Does vitamin D help the immune system?
Low level of vitamin D in the body has been termed as one of the major reasons for respiratory problems. Sunshine and foods high in vitamin D are known to support the immune system as long as the recommended daily dosage is according to the instructions of credible health organizations.
In addition, researchers at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation Trust and the University of East Anglia in England compared the average vitamin D levels of 20 European countries with COVID-19 mortality rates — and found “significant relationships” between vitamin D levels and the number of deaths caused by this infection. While another study from Northwestern University came to similar conclusions, it also indicates that further study is needed.
What is truly surprising is that vitamin D deficiency is a major global health problem including countries where there is plenty of sunshine such as Italy and Spain. According to the National Institutes of Health about 1 billion people have low vitamin D levels and this is found in all ethnicities and age groups. About 42% percent of Americans are vitamin D deficient. While sunshine is a natural source of vitamin D, people can also get the benefits from vitamin D foods when they have low vitamin D levels.
