We Rise By Lifting Others
Sarah James' most recent t-shirt design, entitled "We Rise By Lifting Others Elephant," features her original photograph of a wall mural that has since been lost. "By now it has been painted over numerous times, but I loved the colors, the message, and the artistry," said Sarah James, to explain why she chose this particular piece for the shirt.
"We Rise By Lifting Others Elephant" showcases a painting of the Hindu goddess, Ganesh, as symbolized by a pink elephant wearing an elegant, beaded head-dressing. At the bottom of the photograph are the words "New York City" printed in white block letters.
As the artist explains, "This image was caught on a building wall on the Lower East side of Manhattan on the corner of 6th Street and 1st Ave. in early Spring of 2023."
