The Real English Country House's seasonal heritage crafts courses are perfect if you want to get in the spirit, learn how to make a unique Christmas gift or thinking about starting an artisan business. The farmhouse is located in the Teme Valley, with plenty of local markets, foods, and drinks to discover when visiting.

Experience a Slice of the Simple Life

The Jacobean farmhouse was purchased by the current owners in 2022 with the aim of leading a simpler, rural life. By offering accommodation in the guesthouse and interesting artisan workshops, the owners want to share their lifestyle and inspire others.

"We are the English Country House, and we're passionate about history, heritage and crafting skills. We love the great outdoors, the English countryside and doing things with our hands," a company spokesperson said.

Beautiful Foliage from the Farm

During the Christmas wreath-making course, you will learn how to put together a festive ornament using foraged materials from the garden and surrounding nature. If the weather permits, it's also possible to search for more natural decorations on-site than the ones provided.

Similarly, the Christmas garland class is set in the cosy workshop, and The Real English Farmhouse has arranged all foliage needed beforehand. Both courses are suitable for beginners and include festive refreshments.

Learn Artisan and Heritage Skills

Other courses currently available for booking include fundamentals of Italian fencing, introduction to photography, and soap making. The Real English Farmhouse has also previously hosted a needle felting class, where participants learned how to make a wool hare, which delighted.

A participant shared their experience of the fencing class: "I had great communication prior and found the instructor to be very knowledgeable and patient. Perfect training ground, and even given a cuppa and biscuits halfway through. Absolute bargain for the price."

True English Countryside Stay

If you're traveling far or want to experience an authentic English countryside experience, you can book a stay in the rustic guesthouse. The cabin is heated with a crackling wood burner, and during your stay, you can enjoy the garden and pond from a private lower paddock. The cabin can host up to two guests.
