The recently launched online program was nominated for the 2020 edX prize. Developed in by edX and Georgia Tech, the course helps you learn desirable skills to launch or build a career in analytics. The program is led by a team of expert faculty and includes three graduate-level courses to be completed over 10 months.
Upon completion, you will receive a Micromasters certificate that can be used to complete an advanced degree. A global study indicates a shortage of qualified analysts and that 97 percent of companies with revenues over $100 million require analyst employees. With a Micromasters certificate in Analytics, you can go on to become a research analyst, data analyst, or data scientist.
During the course, you will learn about visualization techniques and data collection, as well as how to understand and use analytics tools such as SQL, Python, and R. You will also complete a series of practical projects that will give you hands-on industry experience, including building a data analysis pipeline. These practical projects are designed help you to hone your skills and equip you for a career in data analysis.
Three modules are included as part of the launch. They are Introduction to Analytics Modeling, Computing for Data Analysis, and Data Analytics for Business. They they cover topics such as basic programming principles, data mining, analytics models and methods, and machine learning.
