Laura Janke has today been a recognized Animal Advocate . This recognition is, in part, a result of Janke's work within the LoveMutts animal shelter and animal re-home arena, specifically her work saved to save over 100 dogs, puppies, kittens and Cats.
Janke, a native of Durham NC, has been involved with the Animal Rescuer world for 5 years, getting her start when she volunteered at LoveMutts animal shelter. Laura Janke loves animals and wanted to help. In response to a question on the driving force behind her success, Janke has explained how it really boiled down to simply always wanting to help animals.
Reflecting on the recognition Janke is quoted as saying: "I volunteer for Love Mutts rescue and have saved over 100 dogs, puppies, kittens and Cats - my work is not done and I'll continue to try and save as many animals as I can".
In a recent one-to-one interview, Janke reminisced on other past achievements, which helped build momentum towards the present day. Notably, one of the proudest was finding a home for her 50th rescue pet.
In the same interview, Janke stated her intentions for the future. The primary goal for the next 12 months, Janke states, will be re-homing 100 or more animals. Looking farther ahead, the aim is making animal rescue an important topic for all people, raising awareness of this important issue.
When asked more personally about how they want to be perceived and remembered, Janke said: "I want to be thought of as someone who helped, that didn't sit on the sidelines."
Janke closed the interview by sharing her recommendation for anybody who wanted to follow in her footsteps in some fashion, perhaps taking the achievements even further. According to Laura Janke, the key is to continue to volunteer and get the word out that animals need homes.
