A newly updated online robotics course has been launched as part of the Robotics MicroMasters series from PennX. It aims to provide students with the learning and insight they need to master foundational math concepts and create their own robots.

The newly updated program is a twelve-week course where you are expected to participate with around eight hours of work per week.
The PennX computer science program will teach you advanced skills in robotics, which will set you up for a career in the industry, or transition into a full bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Available through EdX, the robotics course ensures that you are able to learn at your own pace in an environment that fosters creative thinking and skill development.
Once the program has been completed, you will have developed a clear understanding and practical knowledge of the foundations of robotics. You can then take this further at the University of Pennsylvania, where the certificate they earn will count as three courses out of the required 10.
A number of problems are solved as part of the newly updated course. These include avoiding collisions through cutting-edge robot vision systems, and system design for safe human interaction and movement.
The online robotics studies program is an advanced course designed for learners who have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar field. You will understand how to create robots that operate effectively in the real world, performing a range of tasks.
Those who enroll in the program will learn how to describe, analyze, and think critically about key issues in the robotics field. They will also gain a firmer understanding of the role that mathematics plays in describing robotic platforms.
