Nov 29, 2016

House buyers continue to put their faith in properties in Crawley as house sales and prices continue to increase.

Crawley estate agent Mansell McTaggart has this week welcomed reports of growth in property sales as the local housing market continues to go from strength-to-strength.

The Crawley office of the leading Sussex estate agent has witnessed positive growth throughout the year thanks to the continued health of the local property scene.

According to national property statistics website home.co.uk, the average price for houses in the Crawley area has risen by 2% between November 2015 and 2016, with the average price of a semi-detached house soaring by 12%.

Chris Hounsome, director at Mansell McTaggart, said: “We’ve certainly noticed an upturn in demand for quality hosing in the Crawley area over the last year. Brexit has done little to dampen the confidence and enthusiasm of local house buyers and sellers.”

The average price for a home in Crawley is now £305,000, with semi-detached houses costing £335,000 on average in November 2016.

This upwards trend has been mirrored by the number of properties being advertised for sale in the Crawley area. home.co.uk found 490 properties for sale in November 2016, which represents a 51% increase on the same period last year.

The biggest leap was for smaller properties, from one to three bedrooms, with double the number of properties being offered for sale compared with November last year.

What’s more, houses in Crawley are selling faster with the average time on market down by 22% to just 64 days compared with 89 days on average last year.

Crawley enjoys an enviable location between London and Brighton, with quick local access to Gatwick Airport. The position of this vibrant town surrounded by beautiful open countryside, make it an appealing destination for home buyers.

Mr Hounsome commented: “Crawley remains ever popular with commuters and those looking for a quieter location outside the city. It ticks all the boxes for families looking to relocate to a thriving town with a good lifestyle offering, including quality local shops, pubs and restaurants.”
