Local marketing is targeting a specific search term (broad or long tail) in a specific area; e.g. a suburb or city. If you are a Dentist in Upper Riccarton, you will have some visibility because only the dentists in that suburb will show up (with some exceptions). What matters is where you are in that list: land in the top three and you will get a huge influx of new clients.
Steven Brough at LOCALTACTIC boosts Local Marketing popularity in surrounding suburbs for small business in 2020.
What is local marketing?
It is surprising that not a lot of businesses understand this concept. Steven Brough from LOCALTACTIC specialises in local marketing. He believes there are large amounts of wealth stored in local results and it is these results people should be working on rather than using antiquated search techniques. We are not saying don’t build links; what we are stressing is the importance of creating your own content and to link back to your sites from there. Then it is just a matter of concentrating on creating content that is relevant to your business.
Niche marketing is not the same as local marketing because the niche is the “subject matter domain”; for example, if your niche is a dentist you will be writing subject matter based within that domain and it can apply to any dentist anywhere. This is not the best targeting at all.

Once upon a time people wanted to get to page one, preferably above the fold. Now they want to get into the top three of Google My Business. All digital marketing consultants, online marketing consultants, content marketing consultants and content creation and distribution consultants are trying to achieve just that.
>> At LOCALTACTIC, we achieve this by asking the following questions:
>> Are you in a position right now to service more customers at a high quality?
>> What are your best types of customers?
>> Which customers do you want more of, and for what services?
>> How much do those services/products cost?
>> Can you take on more of these types of customers?
>> Who are your problem customers?
>> What are your goals for the business in the next 12 months?
>> Do you intend to grow the business or customer base, or get more of a certain type of customer?
>> What is the lifetime value of your customers?
>> How do you track where new customers come from or if any advertising works?
>> What are your biggest problems right now?
The answers to these questions drive our campaigns. They are real questions that cover genuine concerns. At LOCALTACTIC, we don’t just want the business to rank, we want it to succeed and become visible everywhere in its business domain.
Steven Brough of LOCALTACTIC says, “It’s not just being visible that is important, it’s being able to help when you are asked”. We believe that any exposure anywhere says you are there to help. Our discussions with you enable us to give your business visibility exactly where you say it needs to be so that you can help your customers. Our campaign can be that accurate, so that when the phone rings, you can feel confident answering it. Rather than answering questions such as “What do you do?” or “How does it work?”, it’s much more satisfying hearing prospective customers tell you what they need and being given the opportunity to say, “I can help with that”, or, “Sorry; that doesn’t fit in with what I do”.
