What To Expect At Your DOT Physical

During the exam, Dr. Davis will review your medical history, current medications or treatments, and health aspects including vision, hearing, and blood pressure, to meet the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements. These state that drivers must:

• Have at least 20/40 acuity in each eye (with or without correction) and a 70-degree field of vision for road safety.
• Be able to hear a forced whisper from 5 feet away with or without a hearing aid.
• Blood pressure should be below 140/90 mmHg with higher readings requiring action.

To ensure a smooth and efficient examination process, Davis Chiropractic asks you to bring a medication list, provider contact details, and eyeglasses or hearing aids if worn to your appointment. Recent test results and/or a letter from your attending physician are required for patients taking blood thinners, or with a condition such as diabetes, sleep apnea, or a history of a stroke, heart attack, or cardiac intervention.
