Did you know you can change to a new career, without having to quit your job to go back to school? The Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy (647-247-2481) near Toronto lets you do most of the work online, with just 1 week of hands-on training.
Do you know what the proper thing to do is when your job sucks?
I suggest asking yourself one important question - is it the job that sucks, or the career?
This is key, because, if you're working as a waitress and it sucks, so you go work as a waitress somewhere else, you may not be doing anything to help the problem.
If it's just the job that sucks, well, you can always get a new one - but if it's the career that sucks, you've got a bigger problem.
That's how I found out about the Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy - because I realized my career was the problem, not my job, my co-workers, or my boss - I just needed an upgrade.
Lucky for me, and maybe you too - they let me do almost all of my training online, so I didn't even have to quit my job. Of course, it's not all remote learning, but their courses combine online classes, hands-on training, and real-world experience, to help you get certified in medical aesthetics, without totally disrupting your life.
Before I forget, here's a link to their Academy, in case you want to check it out. It's pretty neat, and you can see all the certifications you can get from each course, just visit https://dermysk.com/pages/academy
So how much time does it actually take?
That's a tricky question, and it really depends on you.
They require an absolute minimum of one week of in-person, hands-on training, but the majority of the class can be completed online, from your own home, and at your own pace. So it depends on how fast you complete the online modules, before scheduling your in-person training.
Obviously, I don't have access to their records, so I can't give you an average. I would say though, that if you work at it, you can get certified in just a couple of months... and if you don't put in much work, it could take quite a bit longer.
The online learning portion has lots of important information about the medical aesthetic industry, proven business strategies, and details about the regulatory and legal considerations of each procedure. You'll also learn about the underlying physics and biology of popular medical aesthetic procedures so that you understand how it all works.
So what's covered in each course, what's the right one for you, and how many do you need?
In the Basic course, which covers everything required to begin a new career as an aesthetician, you will learn about laser hair and tattoo removal, radiofrequency rejuvenation, fractional ablation, and several other popular techniques. As a graduate of the Basic course, you'll also have the option to enroll in the Advanced course to get certified in more complex procedures, such as Cool Sculpting.
You don't have to though, with just the Basic course, you're ready to start your new career, and you can always come back for more training in a year or two, once you're settled in.
There is one other option though, one that's certainly less common, but way cooler.
You could take all your courses, all at once.
It's a special course they offer, that provides Master level training. In short, it's everything from the Basic and Advanced classes, plus some exclusive training, all rolled into one class - and you don't need to take the other ones first. Of course, they don't accept just anyone into this course, but if you're interested, just ask them about it.
It's definitely worth the extra bit of work and training, to get that Master Of Medical Aesthetics certificate, because that's seriously rare, even in this industry.
Don't take my word for it though, if you're interested, why not check out their reviews on Google, to see what other students think?
Here's one I copied and pasted from a recent graduate, “I just completed the Medical Aesthetics program with our instructor, Katrin. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. I’m so happy I chose to take this course at the School of Medical Aesthetics and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into this field.”
There are dozens of reviews just like that one, for each of their academies, which are located all across Canada. So maybe, the Dermysk Academy is just what you've been looking for.
Check it out for yourself, just visit https://dermysk.com/pages/academy - and if you're dedicated to this new career, don't forget to ask about their Master's level course.
