This is the first book Graham has authored. The book was written with the aim in mind to introduce elementary-age students to the world of science, technology, engineering, and math by using their everyday surroundings to make it more understandable. There's also particular excitement about this launch because it will be the first release in the book series. Graham's whole mission has been to reach children K-12, particularly underrepresented, underserved students. Mr. STEM has been in the making for 2 years. Every word and activity has been tried and proved. Mr. STEM was in mind at all times during every activity performed during the various STEM programs conducted. When Graham was asked why she was excited about the book, she said "Finally seeing him transform from just a thought in my mind to being a published book is amazing. I'm still pinching myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. From visions inspired by God and research to book form for all to read is the perfect way to create awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math among elementary-aged children. Juanita Graham, an avid reader, has a background in management. Graham has definitely been regarded as a faithful Christian and servant to her community. This helped shaped the creation of the book strictly based on her passion for kids and the desire to foster education in today's youth. In fact, her two sons are both passionate about the fields of aerospace, mechanical and electrical engineering.
When asked about why she wrote the book, Graham recited a quote from Nelson Mandella, "Education is the most powerful weapon in which you can use to change the world."
Graham has hopes that the book will inspire more parents to invest in creating STEM education training for their children.. This positive outlook from the author is certainly a testament to her optimism considering some of the mishaps during its creation. At one point the challenge in writing Mr STEM was making sure the book was engaging and educational at the same time..
In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking God, her husband, Cedric M. Graham, Rickey James Muirhead and Christopher Richard Muirhead, as well as STEM Education Statistics. for their part in the creation of the book, saying: “The author thanked Dr. Abi Yildirim of UAB's Engineering Department, her Pastor George M.
