Nano’s New Noise Reduction Tech Reduces Isolation For Seniors With Hearing Loss

Mar 22, 2025

Nano Hearing Aids has introduced new CIC models with improved noise reduction to reduce isolation, depression, and cognitive decline in seniors with hearing loss.

Hearing loss affects one-third of adults aged 61 to 79 and over 80 percent of those older than 85, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. This is a particularly sobering statistic given that hearing loss in older adults can make conversations more difficult, which has been linked to depression and cognitive decline.

As such, Nano Hearing Aids redesigned its previous CIC models, adding advanced noise reduction and feedback management to help seniors stay connected and reduce isolation which is often associated with hearing loss.

Named Top ENT Solutions Provider in 2023, Nano Hearing Aids announced recently the release of two cost-efficient OTC hearing aids models, the First Ear Pro and First Ear Plus completely-in-canal (CIC) devices designed with better gain for clearer hearing. Embedded with advanced background noise reduction technology, these devices improve sound clarity in busy environments.

“At Nano Hearing Aids, we understand that every individual’s hearing needs are unique,” says Dan Thomas, Vice President of Operations. “Incorporating the latest in background noise management technology and user-friendly engineering into our hearing aids represents our commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that enhance our customers’ quality of life.”

A report at Ear and Hearing, The Official Journal of the American Auditory Society reveals the average adult experiencing a decline in their hearing waits 8.9 years before obtaining the devices they need. This delay is often due to confusion about accessibility and concerns over cost and appearances.

As such, Nano believes that their OTC hearing aids should make it easier for seniors to take the first step towards regaining their hearing. Their devices do not require a doctor’s visit and are more affordable than prescription models - starting at $297.
