This positive outlook from the authors is certainly testament to their optimism considering some of the mishaps during its creation. At one point there were some mishaps in writing the book, for example figuring out how to transform the book into a children's book while at the same time making it funny and inspiring. The original idea was a funny joke that Dorothy McCurtis came up with and shared with a group of senior citizens during a weekly activity gathering. It was somewhat of a challenge to develop a children's book from what was shared with her senior friends. With the help of the co-author and illustrator, the book was able to come to life..
