The Stanwix Community Centre on Church Street is an affordable, fully modernised facility that can be adapted to many different kinds of meetings. This is thanks to the efforts of the Stanwix Community Association (SCA), a registered charity dedicated to managing the street’s buildings for the benefit of all residents. The facility currently hosts children’s parties, sewing meetings, yoga classes, public lectures, and school group meetings, among other events.

Moreover, the seating and tables are easily moveable and can accommodate a wide range of events, whether you're organizing a formal business meeting, a casual family gathering, or a community event that requires adaptable setups for different activities.
Available nearly all year round, the centre frequently hosts adult learning sessions and ongoing professional development for first aiders, caregivers, and council consultations. Its proximity to Bitts Park has made it the ideal venue for orienteering events, community fairs, and local litter picks. Situated atop part of the largest Roman cavalry fort on Hadrian's Wall, the centre has also been used to display rare Roman artifacts found during a nearby archaeological dig.

“This online booking system is primarily for one-off and other ad hoc bookings by individuals and groups who aren’t members or regular bulk users,” an SCA representative said. “Our standard booking rate is very competitive in comparison with similar facilities in Carlisle.”
