Newsweek has named Dr. Aleshia Luu, an optometrist for The Eye Institute, an eye care provider with offices in Raleigh, Wake Forest, and Knightdale, NC, One Of America’s 150 Best Optometrists for 2021.

The report, America’s Best Eye Doctors 2021, recognizes the top 150 ophthalmologists and top 150 optometrists from the 20 most populated states. Newsweek partnered with Statista, a leading global provider of market and consumer data, and surveyed over 4,000 ophthalmologists, optometrists, clinic managers and healthcare professionals from April to June 2021.
The survey participants were asked to rate their peers on the quality of their care, consistency of that care and the quality of the technology they use. The survey score is based on in-state recommendations, out-of-state recommendations, recommendations from other specialties and a quality score.
Dr. Luu, who works at our Wake Forest, NC location, has repeatedly shown her excellence in providing only the highest quality care and ensuring that all of her patients' questions are answered and their procedures explained in depth. She's also liked and admired by both customers and staff. These are all qualities The Eye Institute holds in especially high regard, and we congratulate her on her well-deserved recognition.
Dr. Luu received her undergraduate degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a major in Biology and completed the accelerated program at the prestigious Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she graduated with honors in 2009. She then spent seven years working in ophthalmology, gaining valuable experience in the treatment of ocular diseases. Dr. Luu is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, active member of the American Optometric Association and North Carolina Optometric Society.
