A new case study in Canada talks about the driving correlations behind patient satisfaction and quality of life improvements with Invisalign teeth straightening treatment with invisible aligners.

Sbenati Dentistry has reviewed surprising new data in Camila Pacheco-Pereira (of University of Alberta) and Jeremy R Brandelli's (of The University of Calgary) case study on patient satisfaction and quality of life changes after Invisalign treatment. The study was designed specifically for those interested in Invisalign wanting to truly understanding it's benefits and what makes a satisfaction increase. The goal was to assess patient satisfaction and changes in oral health-related quality of life immediately after orthodontic treatment using the Invisalign system. This case study provides a real-world look at the challenges facing those interested in Invisalign wanting to truly understanding it's benefits and what makes a satisfaction increase.

The Patient satisfaction and quality of life changes after Invisalign treatment case study contains credible sources that provide reliable information that can be used to make important business decisions. 81 patients (29.6% men and 70.4% women) were selected from a variety of dental practices in Canada, they were surveyed using a combination of 2 validated questionnaires: Dental Impact of Daily Living and Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire. This 94 question assessment put it's focus on various dimensions of satisfaction and changes in quality of life with the patient after their Invisalign treatments.

Among the information included:

The largest and most impactful correlations were found in the eating and appearance categories. Patients surveyed responded in a positive way to over 70% of these questions. A very strong indicator that these two categories weighed heavily in the eyes of the patients who were treated with Invisalign.

The most common negative aspects were pain and food between the teeth effecting 16% and 24% of patients respectively. These negative experiences were small in comparison, and thereby were not strong enough to discover a correlation. Both of these issues would also definitely subside and improve after treatment, making them a necessary (but minuscule) step in the process.

Surprisingly, doctor-patient relationship was the leading driver in positive correlations with patient satisfaction. Terms like "the orthodontist treated me with respect" and "carefully explained what treatment would be like" came up in the respondents answers. These are a sign that positive, clear and trustworthy doctors had a huge impact on the satisfaction of patients with Invisalign treatment.

Dr. Halim Sbenati, Owner, Doctor of Dental Surgery at Sbenati Dentistry said,

"This case study is unique as it outlines the driving factors for patient satisfaction with Invisalign. Since we know patients love the treatment, it is important to understand why. This study gave surprising feedback showing that yes, patients love the treatment and it's effect on their appearance, but the strongest correlation with satisfaction came with a positive and helpful doctor-patient relationship. Something you can always rely on at Sbenati Dentistry."
