Regina SK: Aesthetic Academy Offers Remote Medical Aesthetician Training

Jul 3, 2023

Did you know you can get fully certified, trained, and even experienced in medical aesthetics, in only a few months? The Dermysk Academy (306-559-2410) has an intensive training program that combines learning at your own speed from home with serious hands-on training at their clinic.

Are you already working part or full-time, and wondering how you're going to get out of a dead-end job with no career prospects?

If so, you're definitely not alone - and while that's not super reassuring, maybe this is: The Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy can turn that all around in just a few months.

While I'm not an expert in school curricula, it looks to me like they had 3 primary goals when they designed these courses.

1. They want you to be able to learn conveniently and effectively.

2. They want you to get real, hands-on experience.

3. They want you to be ready to begin a new career, right after you graduate.

That sounds like the best of all worlds to me, learning online at your own speed without quitting your current job, getting real, hands-on training, and being able to start a new career, right away.

If you want to know more - and who wouldn't? Then just stick around and I'll tell you my favourite parts... Or, if you're in a rush, I guess you could just visit their website to get all the details, straight from the source. It's https://dermysk.com/pages/academy

Just click on the link near the bottom of their website that says "Full Course Directory" to learn about the individual courses, and to see a full list of the techniques you can get certified for.

Here's what I think you need to know, starting with the answers to the big questions.

1. What kind of prerequisites are there?

This is a real bonus, because the answer is, practically none.

To enroll in the Basic course, all you need is a high school diploma or any kind of relevant work experience, and graduation from the Basic course is the prerequisite for the Advanced course.

Although, if you've already been working as an aesthetician, you can also access the Advanced course without any previous classes from the Academy, but you'll need to have spent at least 5 years in the industry.

2. What courses are available?

We've already talked about a few - the Basic course teaches about a dozen of the most popular techniques, like dermaplaning, microblading, acne treatments, and laser hair or tattoo removal.

The Advanced course carries on from where the Basic program leaves off, but it includes some of the most sought-after certifications, like Cool Sculpting. This technique lets you selectively remove unwanted body fat from a client, non-invasively - which definitely sounds like a science fiction future I want to be a part of.

That's not all though - because they also teach a Master's level course that's everything, all at once, all rolled into one program, with a little extra sprinkled on top.

Or to put that another way, it teaches everything covered in the Basic and Advanced programs, plus some bonus "Master-level only" training, all in a single course. If you choose this class, you won't need to take any others, and you'll get a sweet Master Of Medical Aesthetics certificate, which is quite rare even in the industry.

3. How does it all work?

It's actually pretty simple, though quite different from most schools.

First, you start by choosing a course and enrolling, of course - but I suggest talking to an expert at the Academy first, to make sure you're taking the right class. Even as a totally new student, you can choose between taking it slow with the Basic course or doing it all at once with Master-level training.

Second, you complete the "book learning" part of your training, at your own speed, from anywhere with an internet connection. If you work slow and infrequently this could take a while, and that's fine. However, if you work hard and dedicate a bit of time each day, it shouldn't take you long at all.

Third, when you're done with the online modules, just call up the Dermysk Academy nearest you (there are 4 across Canada), and schedule your practical training. They'll get you working hands-on with all the tools of the trade, and even dealing with real clients - so that when you graduate you're actually experienced already.

That's it - after that, you're ready to go out into the world and start making a difference in people's lives, whether it's at an established clinic, by opening your own, or even by working out of your own home.

You'll also be enrolled in the Dermysk Academy’s after-graduate support program, which can help you to find new career opportunities, or upgrade your training.

A spokesperson for the Academy explained, “Post-graduate support is an essential aspect of any educational institution, especially in the field of medical aesthetics, where advances in technology and treatments are continuously evolving.”

The most important thing to remember though, is that no matter which option you choose, you'll be certified, capable, and experienced in an exciting new career.

Where you go from there is up to you.
