The Post 1917 Steakhouse is now open, but if you want to experience what Wakefield’s newest fine dining spot has to offer, you’ll need to make a reservation quickly – spots fill up fast.
Last year, Chef Jason Carron had a vision. After traveling New England and lending a helping hand at hundreds of struggling dining establishments, he wondered how he could take the techniques and flavors he had learned over the course of his journey and bring them full circle. Thus, the philosophy behind the Post 1917 Steakhouse was born.

Since then, he has been hard at work meticulously crafting a menu brimming with imagination and steeped in the local culinary tradition that New England is famous for. Now, you can finally experience this menu for yourself, but you'll need to act fast - reservations for August are already difficult to come by.
The establishment offers a rotating seasonal selection of fine steaks, local seafood, and other locally sourced offerings such as foie gras. The menu for July sees Wagyu dumplings join the roster alongside lobster tacos, mushroom risotto, and more.
Overall, the menu offers ample opportunity for surf-and-turf lovers to experience the very best of both worlds, combining premium cuts of Massachusetts' finest beef with locally produced seafood of all types. It is an experience that you have to taste to believe!
All ingredients used by the restaurant are sourced from Massachusetts farms and are hand-selected for their quality. As their team states on their website, their mission is to create dishes that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also delicious, innovative, and unique to the New England dining scene.
One diner shared their experience, saying, “Post 1917 is such a great addition to the area. Food and service were excellent and this will certainly be our new date night / special occasion go-to from now on.”
Another added, following a five-star review, “Incredible place, ambiance and food. The staff is well-trained and respectful. We visited for our anniversary and left truly impressed with the establishment. Happy to see it in Reading. We’ll be back.”
Indoor and outdoor seating is available now for the month of August and beyond, though it should be noted that certain menu items may be available exclusively within the dining room. Contact their team for more information regarding food allergies and other special requests.
