Under new CEO Brad White, SOLE Fitness has announced the release of their first high horsepower treadmill with a maximum input of 100 watts, a new advancement in energy-efficient design.
SOLE Fitness CEO Brad White has confirmed that the home fitness equipment maker has made several energy efficiency upgrades to some of their most popular treadmill models in an attempt to build high horsepower treadmills that are both more sustainable and cheaper for consumers to run.
The brand is pleased to announce that their SOLE TT8 treadmill, which they market as their ‘commercial grade’ model, is now equipped with a smart energy-saving dual motor system, which is designed to operate the treadmill’s dual incline and decline functions more efficiently.
While the new heavy-duty SOLE TT8 has a strong 4-horsepower motor—which allows it to offer top speeds of 12 mph and 15 incline levels, and to comfortably accommodate users who weigh up to 400lbs—it now has a maximum input of 100 watts. This represents a significant reduction from the current market average of 600-700 watts; and from many older and less energy-efficient models, which can use as much as 3000 watts.
In a climate in which domestic energy bills remain stubbornly high, and many end-point consumers are looking to make sustainable choices, SOLE’s team considers this a win.
CEO Brad White said, “The SOLE TT8 has a maximum input power of just 100 watts. This energy-efficient motor has been designed to help reduce overall power consumption, and this efficiency means lower electricity bills compared to less efficient models.”
With the new SOLE TT8, SOLE’s design team has also explored how new ergonomic design choices can enhance both the longevity of the treadmill and minimize the motor’s energy use; even under high-intensity use. Of particular note for other brands in the home fitness space is the addition of 3-inch crowned rollers and a new heavier flywheel, carefully chosen build features designed to improve the longevity of the device while reducing the demand on the motor.
As Brad White explained, “The TT8 now also comes standard with a 2-ply belt and larger rollers that add to the treadmill's feel as well as its longevity. It now also has a commercial grade 10lbs flywheel around the motor to provide smooth and consistent power.”
Despite these modifications, the Sole TT8 treadmill still uses wireless charging, in accordance with SOLE’s goal of providing functional and convenient home fitness equipment. The home fitness makers have announced that they will also continue to explore more low-wattage wireless charging options, as well as other user-friendly eco modes for more sustained energy usage reductions across all their treadmill models.
Now led by CEO Brad White, SOLE Fitness is a leading manufacturer of at-home fitness equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and ellipticals. Their treadmills start at $1149.99, and most models are foldable for easy storage.
