After the success and sell out of their previous releases, Mythologie Candles are launching a new ‘Mystical Autumn’ collection for Fall 2020, which puts a twist on old seasonal favourites to create unique scents inspired by fantasy and folklore.
After the success and sell out of the previous candle collection which was inspired by classic epic fantasy tales, Mythologie Candles are launching their new collection for fall 2020, ‘Mystical Autumn’, with a range of alternative fragrances.
Aiming to put a unique twist on typical fall scents rather than releasing different variations of pumpkin, the new collection has fragrances ranging from incense, patchouli and vetiver through to pie crust, mulled wine and melted butter. From werewolves to gothic cathedrals and Stonehenge to Gaelic feasts, each candle is inspired by fantasy, drawing inspiration from history and folklore.
Birthed out of a need to slow down and be more present in her day to day life raising and homeschooling 5 children, Celtic folk metal artist Leah McHenry created Mythologie Candles initially to provide a more immersive experience when listening to her music. After discovering her passion for the craft, Leah continued making candles and the business grew.
“When I go to create a candle collection, they always begin with a specific mood and a scene in my mind”, she says about her inspiration for the ‘Mystical Autumn’ collection. “These candles were inspired by combining the scents of my favourite season and imagery of some of my favourite places in the UK and Ireland. My challenge is to blend scenes and scents, all while designing fragrances that are not mainstream, yet evoke a very specific experience and create the perfect atmosphere for our fantasy-loving audience.”
The collection features 6 unique fragrances, each inspired by ancient traditions & mythical tales:
Samhain Harvest - almond, clove, nutmeg, butter and tonka bean.
Gaelic Feast - mulled wine, whisky, butter, crisp bacon, spices and pie crust.
Stonehenge at Dusk - amber, cardamom, sandalwood, white pine and raspberry.
Gothic Cathedral - incense, fire-blazed sugar, vetiver and patchouli.
Blood Moon Sky - dark bergamot, musk, black cherry and mulled red wine.
The Dark Hedges - apple leaves, glistening frost, tobacco leaf and soft moss.
Mythologie Candles create eco-friendly candles made from coconut wax and phthalate-free fragrances, meaning the scents are clean-burning, non-toxic and pet friendly. The collection features 2oz candles, available separately or as a sample pack of every scent, as well as full-size 10oz candles that burn for 50+ hours with a crackling wooden wick.
