In today's world, middle schoolers are unfortunately at high risk for feelings of hopelessness, depression, and anxiety. But, what if you could teach them HOW to be hopeful, think positively, and achieve their goals?

★ Middle School Blues ★
Feelings of hopelessness, depression, and anxiety have been on the rise for adolescents in recent years. Middle-school-aged students are at particularly high risk for these issues, partially due to the rush of new hormones the body experiences during this stage of development.
In fact, according to the CDC, between 2018-19 about 40% of children between 12-17 years old experienced persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness. And this was BEFORE the pandemic and the intense isolation experienced in that prolonged quarantine. Studies also show that this risk is further exacerbated by constant social media exposure and a lack of physical activity.
★ Hope To The Rescue! ★
Hope Rising's EI curriculum, "My Best Me," teaches middle schoolers how to be hopeful and use positive thinking to improve their behavior, academics, and relationships.
"My Best Me" equips middle schoolers with essential psycho-social skills that improve behavior and performance in the classroom and beyond. Educators using "My Best Me" have reported a 68% reduction in suspension and expulsion rates, an 81% lower dropout rate, and a 44% lower occurrence of chronic absenteeism.
The program centers around a simple three-step system of setting goals based on personal strengths, designing a clear path to attaining those goals, and cultivating the willpower needed to achieve them. This three-step goal achievement method is utilized throughout its five core concepts: identity, health, community, economy, and external environment.
The program envisions your students working in teams to help build collaboration and interpersonal skills. "My Best Me" also dedicates time to your students' emotional and creative expression, allowing them to sort through complex emotions and develop a more stable understanding of their identities, strengths, and role in relationships.
