The Filling Station on Hwy 75 is celebrating two wonderful and challenging months in business. This is a huge milestone for the Jonesborough, TN-based Restaurant business, which features country cooking, Mayfield ice cream, and a full-fledged coffee bar.
The Filling Station on Hwy 75 got its start in 2018 when founders Jenny and Neil Church decided to build a family business that serves the local community, giving them a great place to gather and enjoy a meal together. The restaurant provides fresh and tasty take-out options for employees working in nearby Gray, and also offers a full coffee bar tended by friendly baristas who are happy to provide a caffeine pick-me-up to patrons who are dining in or taking their joe to go.
One of the earliest challenges The Filling Station on Hwy 75 faced was turning a young and relatively inexperienced crew into a team that excels in hospitality and service. It took quite a bit of training to turn everyone's good intentions into consistently great service, but the management's training is paying off as new customers discover a favorite new dining spot.
While every business of course faces challenges, some, like The Filling Station on Hwy 75 are fortunate enough to enjoy real successes, wins, and victories too. Once such victory sprang from a real challenge: The location is a bit off the beaten path. But once people find The Filling Station and come in for a meal, they come back again and again and bring their friends along, too.
Zac LaPointe, barista at The Filling Station on Hwy 75 shared another big win. "One of the high points here at The Filling Station on Hwy 75 is that even though we've got delicious house-made desserts and an ice cream bar, most folks - even if they mean to leave room - enjoy their meals so much they are too full for dessert."
The Filling Station on Hwy 75's Co-Founder, Jenny Church says, "We're delighted to be celebrating two months in business. I believe the secret to getting this far in business today is putting our customers first and hearing what they really want. We treat our customers like family. Without them, we wouldn't have a business!"
The Filling Station on Hwy 75 currently consists of about a dozen employees and has big plans for the upcoming year. One of their core objectives is to become the Tri-Cities' favorite destination restaurant for family dining. Plans are also in the works for offering delivery and catering in addition to daily specials.
