The Plymouth Road Runner of 1968 is celebrating 50 years along with other competitors, the Dodge Dart, Dodge Super Bee, Dodge Charger, and the Plymouth Barracuda. All of these and more immortals of the drag strips will be featured at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in July this year. The show field will be categorized based on year, make and models, and the event will also include industry guests, special prizes and activities for kids.
A major focus of this year’s event is the ‘ultimate muscle car’. The Plymouth Road Runner was originally meant to be devoid of frills, and had a 383 four-barrel as base engine with the option of a 426 Hemi. In 1969 it went on to incorporate a 440 six-barrel for the street racer car in an A12 package. Not to be forgotten is the legendary Jack Smith, considered the ‘Father’ of the Road Runner.
The Plymouth Road Runner is proudly featured on the Quarter Mile Addiction tribute T-shirt and accessories. The official store is dedicated to making merchandise that bring back the glorious years of drag racing. This year, fans can look forward to special tributes for the other three big events too, the Mopar Nationals, Mopar Fest and the NHRA US Nationals.
Those who miss out on attending the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals can still participate in the action. The ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirt is available in all sizes for men and women, and features five iconic ‘muscle cars’ from 1968 - the SS Barracuda, the Plymouth Roadrunner, Dodge Coronet/Superbee, Dodge Charger and the SS Dart.
To celebrate half a century of Mopars and muscle cars, ‘Legends of 1968’ T-shirts and merchandise can be ordered with regular and speed shipping options from the official Quarter Mile Addiction store or from the above URL.
